Are you at the end of your studies and feeling how exhausting the last few years have been? How can you start your working life when your energy reserves are almost exhausted? What are you looking forward to? For example, finally being financially independent? In the workshop, you will reflect on the strategies you have (unconsciously) developed to deal with challenging situations. We will discuss practical examples from the specialist literature HBR (2018). You will learn how you can actively use this knowledge to keep a better eye on your own resources in the future. It’s about your balance, because resilience can be trained.

Your physical, mental and emotional fitness in everyday working life is closely linked to how valuable you feel your work is, among other things. That’s why we compare what positions you have as future employees with regard to the meaningfulness of your work – and how the employer views this.

Specialist literature to prepare for the workshop: Harvard Business Review (2018): HBR’s 10 Must Reads On Mental Toughness. (IMPORTANT: see ILIAS COURSE!)

Workload for ECTS:

1 ECTS: Active participation in the workshop(both afternoons!), preparation by means of independent reading of the specified literature (HBR 2018) and preparation of a 5-minute introductory presentation on a free selection from the specialist reading. At the latest 10 days before the workshop, please send 1 A4 page summary/motivation for the selected article to gabriele.alpers@kit.edu.
