Overview/objectives:
In this workshop we will highlight methods, conversation techniques, but also personal obstacles to get in contact with other people or to stay in contact with a good and safe feeling.
Contents:
- Types of contact and making contact
- Different contact needs
- Goals and relevance of contact and making contact
- How do I approach people? How do I start a conversation?
- Small talk (topics, transitions, etc.)
- Influences and obstacles when making contact
- Important non-verbal conversation regulators and affective gestures/facial expressions
- Sensitize perception: How can I tell whether the other person wants to continue the conversation/contact? How can I tell whether the other person feels comfortable with the contact?
- How do I steer the conversation to stay in contact or not?
- Setting boundaries and breaking off contact
- Contact and group dynamics
- Strategies for successful long-term contact
- Confident in dealing with telephone contacts
- Recognizing and dealing with personal blockages
- Authenticity vs. politeness
Methods:
- Individual work and individual tips for specific communication situations
- Exchange and feedback on self-perception and perception of others
- Physical exercises, partner exercises
- Role plays, trying out specific situations
- Feedback on your own impact and that of others
- Exercises to train perception
Prerequisites for participation:
We need your active participation and openness to get involved in the joint discussions and exercises.
Workload:
1 ECTS: continuous, active participation + reflection report/transfer task (approx. 5 pages)
Lecturers:
Birgit Opielka: graduate social scientist, personnel and organizational developer, ProfilPASS consultant, mediator and systemic/NLP coach, since 2005 freelance trainer, lecturer and coach for various educational institutions, companies, organizations and institutions, focus on: Communication, conflict management, intercultural competence, gender mainstreaming, leadership and team development.
Kristin Wunder: Studies in speech science/rhetoric/pedagogy/psychology, DGT dance therapist, HP psychotherapist, INMEDIO mediator, trainer/coach for 25 years in the private sector, in the education sector, as well as in social and artistic institutions, main focus: Communication, social skills, conversation, conflict management, presentation, rhetoric, bodywork, voice.
