Overview/objectives:

In this seminar, we will deal with the effective organization and structure of meetings as well as the key competence for this: moderation. You will also gain insights into various methods and event formats. In the blended learning format, you will first work alone in online lessons and then together in a group in face-to-face seminars. Publication of online lessons with free time management: 13.11., 20.11., 27.11., 4.12.,15.01., 22.01., 19.01., 5.02.

Contents:

• Role and characteristics of a moderator
• Preparing and leading meetings
• Moderation occasions, formats and processes
• Methods for starting, in the work phases and closing
• Follow-up meetings and events
• Insights into communication theory, styles and conflicts
• Insights into team development and motivation models
• Reflection on personal skills in this field of work

  

Methods: 

• Independent processing of various sources in the Ilias course
• Small surveys, exchange of experiences, etc. online
• Group work and moderation events in the face-to-face seminar
• Role plays
• Giving and receiving feedback in the group
• Personal, individual self-reflection

  

Prerequisites for participation: 

• No previous knowledge is required.
• However, you should be prepared to work independently on the online lessons and take part in practical exercises in the face-to-face seminar.

  

Type of event:

The first part of the seminar starts with four online lessons, followed by a half-day workshop.

The second part of the seminar follows immediately after Christmas with four more online lessons and is concluded with a one-day workshop.

  

Workload for ECTS: 

2 ECTS: Attendance at both attendance dates + the online lessons contain small exercises that are noted down individually

  

Lecturer:

• Dipl. Ing. architecture and urban planning, mediator, coach and adult educator
• Many years of teaching experience in seminars at KIT, in companies and for volunteers
• Self-employed for almost 2 decades in municipal consulting, project development, moderation and coaching
• Enthusiastic about people and nature – whether in voluntary work, in her free time or when constantly learning in different groups
