Communication is the basis of interpersonal cooperation and information transfer. The course offers GuG students the opportunity to get to know central communication models and types as well as presentation contexts. On this basis, they can then draw conclusions for their own verbal and visually supported communication – both during their studies and beyond.
The course also pays particular attention to the specific communication situation: for talks and presentations to be successful, it is not only important to assess the target audience in advance and prepare information in a targeted manner, but also to be able to establish and maintain contact with the audience according to the situation. A verbally and non-verbally coherent performance that does not come across as artificial and positively emphasizes your own personality helps you to communicate confidently and makes it easier for others to follow the speaker.
Various lecture and presentation formats are tested in practical exercises and by means of feedback. At the same time, students work on developing their own individual communication style.
