A significant part of student learning takes place through self-study. Students are expected to show initiative, motivation and self-regulation skills. The challenges in everyday student life can be complex.

With the help of this online course, participants learn about their own motivation and learning behavior in order to gain new motivational strategies for their studies in the next step and to build up and expand their knowledge in the area of self-regulated learning in a targeted manner.

Workload for ECTS:

2 ECTS: active participation and final assignment

3 ECTS: active participation, final assignment and reflection report

Lecturer:

Albena Boychev studied education at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), specializing in vocational education. She worked for several years as an academic assistant at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Karlsruhe. She currently works at KIT in the KIT nova team and from January 2026 she will be involved in the KaRLoS project at the House of Competence (HOC). Her main areas of work include the conception, development and practical support of digital support services and learning materials for students. Her work and research focus on the areas of self-regulated learning and student motivation.
