This course accompanies the students as part of the course “Laboratory Control Engineering” (LR). It offers them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the basics of project and knowledge management in an application-oriented way, to try them out and to reflect on them.

The basics of project management are taught in a workshop with a focus on the depth required for the lab: What is (my) project? What are my goals and how do I define them? What does my schedule look like? What is important to us when working together as a team? How are tasks distributed within the team? How do I keep an overview? How can I contribute my experience from other cultures and projects and is there anything special to consider in my group?

The project teams are coached individually in further, individually agreed meetings. In this context, individual aspects of project and knowledge management (e.g. documentation, controlling, etc.) can be deepened.

Workload:

Partial scope of the project lab: active participation in the workshop + 3 group coaching sessions (30-45 min each)

1 ECTS: A Design Decision Document, which accompanies and illuminates the decisions made during the lab, as well as a reflection report (approx. 5 pages).

Lecturer:

In his career, Mr. Schindler has managed and designed various projects in science and business. The focus is on communication systems and autonomous vehicles, where software and hardware aspects must always be combined in an optimized system. Due to the different stations, different cultures and time zones had to be integrated and coordinated in the projects.

Mr. Schindler therefore accompanies the students on a technical, methodological and procedural level as well as in terms of group dynamics.
