The block seminar provides an introduction to academic writing and reflects on the possibilities and difficulties of using text-generating AI. It will show how to use AI tools in a meaningful and scientifically honest way and what should definitely not be solved with text-generating AI.

The block seminar is designed as a blended learning format and therefore begins with a half-hour online kick-off session, in which the writing assignment for the ECTS acquisition is already set at the beginning (submission by 04.03.26, approx. 2 pages).

The subsequent face-to-face sessions will be used for in-depth practice of academic writing and honest work in dealing with text-generating AI. There will be many practical phases on site in which students can apply the theoretical input in their own writing processes.

At the end of the block seminar, students will be able to carry out scientific writing processes confidently and classify the use of text-generating AI according to what is scientifically honest and what is not.

Workload for ECTS:

  • 2 ECTS: AI Monitoring
  • 3 ECTS: AI Monitoring with extended reflection section
