Whether you like it or not: with a degree from KIT, it is very likely that you will end up in a management position. Two pieces of good news:
- Leadership can be learned, even in a student environment (and it’s even fun).
- Good leadership doesn’t have to be loud! The new leadership, which points to the future, is much more pleasant because it is more humane than some of the images we have in our heads from earlier times. Instead of striving for power, dominance and control, the focus of good leadership is on appreciation, a sense of purpose and the quality of the leadership relationship.
To experience this, the one-day workshop consists of two parts:
- The morning offers a mix of keynote speeches, exchanges and exercises. We will address the following questions, among others: How does new leadership differ from traditional leadership concepts? Which qualities and behaviors are particularly in demand with regard to the new leadership? Among other things, we will work with our own character strengths and relate these to our own leadership perspectives.
- In the afternoon, we will then meet experienced managers from different areas who already lead differently and can report on their practical experience. The exchange should inspire us to trust in our own (leadership) strengths and develop the courage to take the lead ourselves.
Participants will be:
- Diana Stier (founder of räume // for natural growth)
- Axel Jütte (SAP SE |Global Mindfulness Practice)
Workload for ECTS:
1 ECTS: Preparation and follow-up of the workshop with evidence-based reflection tools, short reading and active participation in the workshop.
Lecturer:
Sabrina Weiß is project manager of the Leadership Talent Lab (LTL) at the House of Competence (HoC). As part of the project, she deals with the promotion of good leadership skills and the question of how good leadership can be made tangible during studies.
