This course accompanies the students as part of the course “Laboratory Control Engineering” (LR). It offers them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the basics of project and knowledge management in an application-oriented way, to try them out and to reflect on them.

The basics are developed in a workshop based on the participants’ own project: What is (not) a project? How do I define my goal? How do I structure the work process? How do I identify important stakeholders? What is important to us when working together as a team? How are tasks distributed within the team? How do we maintain an overview? How do I deal with unforeseen situations?

The project teams are coached individually in further, individually agreed meetings. In this context, individual aspects of project and knowledge management (e.g. documentation, controlling, etc.) can be deepened. This participation is mandatory within the “Control Engineering Laboratory”.

In addition, students have the opportunity to acquire a further ECTS

Workload for ECTS:

  • Part of the course “Laboratory Control Engineering (LR)”: active participation in impulse workshop and group coaching, preparation of a short design decision document
  • 1 ECTS: active participation in impulse workshop and group coaching sessions, preparation of a short design decision document + reflection report

Lecturer:

In his career, Mr. Schindler has managed and designed various projects in science and business. His focus is on communication systems and autonomous vehicles, where software and hardware aspects must always be combined in an optimized system. Due to the different stations, different cultures and time zones had to be integrated and coordinated in the projects.

Mr. Schindler therefore accompanies the students on a technical, methodological and procedural level as well as in terms of group dynamics.
