Pressure to perform and a hectic pace have characterized everyday university life for some time now. Many students report persistent stress and negative effects on their physical and emotional health.
Yet “stress” in its original function is a life-sustaining and even motivating process.
In addition to balancing everyday challenges and compensatory phases, our personal resources and attitudes also play a major role in coping with stressful situations.

Key topics:

  • Providing knowledge on the topics of stress and stress management.
  • Identification of personal stressors
  • Development of customized strategies for dealing with stress (including stress-relieving attitudes, time management tools)
  • Reflection on individual potentials and needs
  • Getting to know different relaxation techniques

Participants can expect a varied mix of theoretical inputs, self-reflection and practical individual and group exercises.

Workload for ECTS:

2 ECTS: Attendance, active participation and completion of homework.

3 ECTS: Attendance, active participation, completion of homework and writing a reflection report.

Learning objectives:

In terms of multimodal stress management, participants will learn a variety of strategies to deal with challenges and stresses in their studies in a healthy and productive way. Emphasis is placed on a resource-oriented approach: Thus, on the one hand, participants deal with their individual stressors, but they are also expected to identify their personal strengths and use them in a targeted manner for successful stress management.
