The online course is interdisciplinary and is aimed at students with no previous experience in the field of information or research skills.
The content and exercises are made available to participants via the Ilias learning platform. Personal consultation appointments can be arranged if required. The central achievement consists of working through all tests of the self-study course and completing and submitting the corresponding exercise form.

Brief description of the content:
The online course on research skills teaches the basics of academic research – from preparation and implementation to the evaluation and management of the sources found. It then goes on to discuss how the research process in a team and collaborative literature management can be successful. Using illustrative case studies and integrative tests, you will learn about the various steps of the research process. You will practise using various search tools and strategies, learn more about the functionality and use of suitable search tools and gain initial insights into topics such as literature management, content evaluation of sources and time planning.
The online course is made available via the Ilias learning platform.
Workload for ECTS:
1 ECTS: Exercises of the self-study course and processing and submission of the corresponding exercise form.
2 ECTS: Exercises from the self-study course, completion and submission of the associated exercise form and completion of further exercises for the course.
