Mindful leadership means consciously practising value- and meaning-oriented humanity in a leadership context. The model of mindful leadership triggers an important change in awareness for the constructive management of current social challenges. The millennia-old tradition of mindfulness practice helps to shape this inner and outer process of change in order to deal with leadership responsibility or to prepare for it in perspective. In contrast to traditional leadership models, mindful leadership focuses on skills such as self- and emotion regulation, empathy and presence. After all, successful management of challenging change processes starts with the individual. Only those who lead themselves well can lead others!
This excursion seminar takes us to Münsterschwarzach Abbey, the most important Benedictine monastery in the German-speaking world. There, we will learn about Benedictine leadership of people and companies on site. This is less about methodical management tools and more about personal requirements and scope for action. According to the Benedictine view, leadership does not mean climbing a career ladder, but a personal path to maturity.
The monastic atmosphere invites us to reflect on our own views and discover new perspectives. In addition to offering mindfulness-based (self-)leadership skills, Benedictine leadership principles such as strength-based personnel deployment will be discussed in terms of their practical suitability for the present. The monks of the monastery are available to us as sources of inspiration, lecturers and discussion partners. We can participate in the rhythm of monastery life and organize the day alternating between seminar units and times of reflection.
Information on departure and the exact schedule of the seminar will be announced shortly.
