It is time for the thesis, a topic is found, first experiments and research begin. Time is short, the workload is not – and then you are expected to submit a well-founded academic text!
No need to panic: In the crash course Academic Writing, you will receive methods and tips to perfectly plan and execute your project and present your results with a high linguistic level.

- Plan the time for the writing project as efficiently as possible.
- Find the necessary literature for your topic.
- Structure the text logically and consistently.
- Write in an academical and scientific style.
- Include citations correctly.
- Submit a great thesis with as few errors as possible.
Learning Objectives:
After this crash course, you approach your writing projects with a plan. You have an overview of the important aspects of academic writing and you know possible pitfalls and how to overcome them.

1 ECTS: active participation + transfer exercise (to be announced by the lecturer)
Lecturer:
Evelin Kessel is a lecturer for scientific writing at the writing lab of the House of Competence. She already worked there as a peer tutor from 2013 to 2016 and was involved in numerous projects. She studied German language and literature and multimedia (M.A.) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Since 2017, she has been working in industry and developing continuing education concepts for the sales sector.
