Text-generating AI is seen as a forward-looking tool for the world of work and science. The support provided by text generators also seems attractive to students with a view to their Bachelor’s or Master’s theses. What can AI achieve in this context and where are the potential pitfalls?

The workshop will start by explaining the necessary steps for writing an academic paper that meets the criteria of good scientific practice. At the same time, we will focus on how text-generating AI can be helpful in these steps – and for which tasks the tool is not suitable. To this end, the workshop will present specific strategies for using AI to obtain results that can be used in an academic context. The focus is on responsible use of the tool.

The workshop is suitable for students who are preparing for their final thesis as well as those who have already started writing.
