This course takes place at the University of Freiburg (as part of a cooperation project, see below).
You will receive impulses on how to actively tackle change, change habits and create something new. Insights into various models and methods of positive psychology will help to raise awareness of your own ability to change and strengthen your willingness to act.
Orientation is provided by Martin Seligman’s theory of well-being and the PERMA model (an acronym for Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishment) derived from it. The starting point for this course are the two PERMA factors P (for positive emotions) and M (for Meaning/ Matter).
Focusing attention on these factors should enable you to:
- become more creative and open to new approaches
- strengthen problem-solving skills
- become more flexible in decision-making and adapt more easily to changing situations
- to be able to act proactively and self-determined
- aim for long-term goals and link them to personal values
- develop the willingness to grow in the face of challenges and overcome obstacles
- increase resilience and perseverance
