This online course on academic writing focuses on the conception of seminar papers and theses. Students have the opportunity to successively develop an exposé for a topic of their choice. In this way, they can follow all the development steps that are necessary for the successful completion of a written thesis.

Instructions for independent research and writing tasks are provided before the start of the seminar and for each subsequent course unit. In the online course itself, standards are taught and work results are discussed. It is also possible to arrange to meet online in small groups or to make appointments for a meeting with the lecturer. This offer applies in particular to the end of the seminar, when the final editing of a scientific paper is discussed as an example.

By writing a synopsis, students should acquire the ability to
– formulate a meaningful title for a scientific paper,
– write a timetable,
– draft an outline,
– research literature,
– cite according to scientific standards,
– write a scientific text and
– edit (final editing)
