Whether in product and software development, urban planning, participatory construction projects, or organizational development, qualitative research is always helpful when it comes to understanding people’s needs, motives, and contexts of meaning. This is why qualitative approaches are also used in numerous disciplines beyond the social sciences. There are a wide variety of data collection and analysis methods as well as research approaches, of which interviews, focus groups, qualitative content analysis, ethnography and grounded theory are only the best known.
The workshop “Data Literacy: Basic Knowledge of Qualitative Research (QR)” is aimed at KIT students of all disciplines who want to get to know this specific way of producing data and knowledge and who want to acquire first basic knowledge in the field of qualitative research.
