Centering, alignment, contact with myself – without losing sight of the goal: These are skills that are important in many life situations. At university, they help you to cope with exam situations or make important decisions. Intuitive archery is a way of practising precisely this skill and experiencing it first-hand.

In intuitive archery, both eyes rest on the target and we are open to other perceptions. By continuously comparing the target and what we have actually achieved, we gain a different physical and mental attitude. It is important to combine a mindful state of perception with the right movement patterns and to release the arrow intuitively.

We have copied the technique of the shoulder blade pull from the Zen archers. Coupled with the principles of Taijiquan and elements of mindfulness, we teach a form of archery that has over ten years of practical experience. We shoot with recurve take-down bows (detachable limbs) and carbon arrows. The material, including protective equipment, is provided. A flat rate of 5€ will be charged for the use of the equipment.

The workshop has the following objectives:

  • Improving the ability to perceive
  • Improvement of attention in target finding processes: Experiencing centering and alignment when aiming (connecting/aligning with the goal) without losing your own center
  • Reactivation of the personal gut feeling (intuition)
  • Training the ability to concentrate
  • Acquisition of the basics of archery (safety, material knowledge, shooting technique/ shoulder blade pull)

Please note: The number of participants is limited to 12 due to the available shooting ranges.
