The high demand to be perfect and not to make any mistakes often has a stressful effect. If you always demand top performance from yourself, are never satisfied with what you achieve and always wanted to be the best at school, you will experience increased fears and worries at university that you will not perform at your best, especially during short periods of study. People under such pressure to be perfect are at risk of burnout and performing below their level. How can you break out of this vicious circle of pressure to perform and fear of failure? How can you make studying fun and enjoyable again?
You will receive results from perfectionism research, take part in self-reflection exercises and learn various techniques/strategies for overcoming perfectionism.

Lecturer:
Dr. Ute Bayer is a social scientist, lecturer, trainer and psychotherapist. She worked at the Chair of Social and Motivational Psychology at the University of Konstanz from 1993 to 2010, focusing on motivation, volition and action. Since 2010, she has run her own practice for coaching and psychotherapy and gives training courses for various educational institutions. She has been a lecturer at the HoC since 2012.
